Ida’s grandmother lives in the middle of the
ocean, on a faraway island. This year, Ida is spending the whole summer with
her, exploring the beaches, swimming in the sea, and drawing lighthouses while
Grandma bakes cakes. During the day, the island is beautiful and peaceful. But
in the evening, when Ida is lying in bed, she hears strange noises: creaking
and cracking and humming and fluttering. Where could these sounds be coming
from? Ida gathers up all her courage and steps out into the night with her
